Stepping Up.

Let me take a moment to introduce you to a young man by the name of Hemanth. He lives in India in a small village in the Cuddapah region of Andra Pradesh.
We first met Hemanth in the Cuddapah region just about 45-minutes drive from his home village. He was helping with some meetings Maranatha had coordinated in the area. He was one of the many translators that had come from Spicer for the event.
Gina got to know him much better than I did but I do know one of his passions that he couldn't stop talking about was wanting to hold a series of meetings in his own village so he could tell all his friends, family, and neighbors about Jesus.
When the meetings were over and the time for good-byes came he was one of the young men who had the hardest time saying good-bye.
Within a month of his departure our inbox and I know many others were flooded with coorispondance with budget plans and updates about who he had talked to and agreed to speak for the meetings if he could raise the money. He did persist. Right through the middle of a very sad time in Christian history in India he persisted raising money and support.
This last December 22 to 28th the meetings "took place successfully by God's grace."

Dr. Nakka Sharath Babu close friend and professor at Spicer Collge was his guest speaker. I know Hemanth was very excited about that.

He told us that in his village there are nearly "600 to 700 families out of which many of them have attended..."

250 Bibles were distributed to people who attended and baptismal canidates.

24 people have been baptized so far including 2 from his own family.

Hemanth tells us that there are now 28 church members in his home village. "We don't have church but prayers are going on. So I would like to request you to pray for the members and also to have an Adventist church for our believers in our village." He finishes his report with a quote from the Bible, "Delight your self in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your Heart."

May the Lord continue to bless and give the desires of his heart.
